Ratings and Reviews

Generally works as advertised

I was merely looking for a basic MIDI player. This is nearly perfect, simply I've run into 2 minor problems. The first is that at that place doesn't seem to be whatever discernible style to send a reset if notes get stuck using the built-in MIDI softsynth. Notes often "hang" or go "stuck" when switching files. The only fix for this seems to be quitting the app and relaunching information technology. The other issue is y'all can't drag and drib .kar files, but they volition play simply fine if I prepare this app as the default when I double click them.

Cheers for your purchase and kind review! Re stuck notes: if you would, please contact united states of america at support@methodred.net and then we may learn more nigh what y'all are experiencing. Thanks for your consideration in helping us amend MIDIPlayer X.

Huge time-saver

I have a 32-year-former Roland U-20 keyboard, and subsequently I had the internal battery changed, the keyboard lost all of its default patch data (the display showed nonsense characters, and wouldn't play any internal instruments). The Roland company sent me a .MID file and instructions on how to set the U-20 to receive the default patches. I simply added a Roland U-xx device to MIDI Studio on the Mac, and connected the MIDI In and Out ports to an internal Mac MIDI device. MIDIPlayer X was extremely elementary to use: I turned off Auto-Play and sent the data to the U-20. Problem solved, without spending weeks trying to figure out one of those complicated software sequencers.

Tempo Doesn't Piece of work

Tempo can merely be inverse by arrow (why non by information input?), and it doesn't actually affect the playback at all (in Catalina here), so tempo is always at 120bpm no matter what. Otherwise a very useful app, but two stars deducted until this is stock-still.
Added ane star back as manufacturer responded quickly and constructively... will requite 5 stars as soon as we figure out how to go tempo to piece of work here.

Give thanks y'all for your buy of MIDIPlayer X, and your time to write a review. Increasing and decreasing tempo works as specified in macOS 10.15.7, so pitiful to hear you are having trouble with tempo. Please contact us at support@methodred.net and then we may get some boosted details as to what may exist going incorrect, and get tempo changes working for you, equally well.
